These documents below represent a student's year - long investigation of Mixed Apartment Complex, specifically focusing on the structural system. This is comprised of understanding the existing system, determining an alternative solution to design constraints, and comparing the existing system to the proposed system for a recommendation.

The final report begins with technical commentary on the existing structural system of Mixed Apartment Complex. Followed by other features of the building that affect the design of the structure. It then moves on to the investigation of a potential, alternative way to design the structural system with an investigation the impact it has on other aspects of architectural engineering (e.g. construction management and acoustics). Finally, a conclusion is made with respect to which structural system may be best suited for the overall building project.

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Antonio Thomas. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
