Structural Existing Conditions Report

Structural Notebook Submission A

Structural Notebook Submission B

Structural Notebook Submission C

The intent of this report is to investigate existing structural conditions of Mixed Apartment Complex in Small City, PA. Structural systems resisting gravity and lateral loads are identified and described. Along with the loads and codes that were applied to the design of the systems. This information will serve as a base reference for future reports.

The intent of this report is to determine the dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads using documents provided. These loads will be used in future reports for member evaluation.

The intent of this report is to evaluate the current structural system of Mixed Apartment Complex. Using a representative bay for analysis, members used to resist gravity loading will be evaluated. Upon completion of the analysis, other systems will be briefly investigated to serve as a possible alternative for redesign.

The intent of this report is to analyze the lateral system of Mixed Apartment Complex. The frames and shear walls will be modeled in ETABS and evaluated with hand calculations. The model will serve as verification of the results found by hand.

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Antonio Thomas. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
